Ode to imprisonment

You offered me imprisonment.
This is me in shackles and in chains
Sitting on a golden throne, diamonds scaffolding my dungeon room
The ceiling is made of unimaginable blue
and as day turns to night, oh how they shine so bright.
My silken gown drapes the earth in shimmer divine
A train of platinum steel rivers meanders across time.
My headdress, weed woven, flowers unencumbered
and glistens in the morning light.
I am bound by sweet insanity, gripped by your loving arms
But when you are goneā¦
The emptiness yields the burning flames across plains
and I am thrown into a darkness.
With your return, the rains comes in droves
The tear stained earth awaits all apologies
And things said in sincerity blossom into vindication.
This is my only suffering.
That I get to be who I was made to be, accept it, embrace it
Kneel at your feet.
I find myself much embodied, commanding respect
I come to know of things that freedom could not bestow
This is a purpose, me and you.
A fortune foretold that I have seen and cannot unsee.
That to unite with another being is far greater than the greatness I found alone in all things.
