Where there is no death

Death comes closer everyday
It scrapes by me on a motorcycle
Misses me at the top of very long steep stairs
A mere glimpse of it leaves me reeling
Dazed momentarily as the strands of an epiphany are set in motion.
Every revolution of the earth invites a notion of
fireflies in a vanilla sky matrix
Shackled by routine and herded by a need to feed
The proclamation of what it is I need to live instead of
What it is I need to live, for
All the while inducing a deep soul sleep that
makes me forget
What illuminates and counts
As the hours and the seconds and the years are spent watching this machine
Toiling to maintain the means of the destruction from that which creates the solutions
Wrapped in blanketed lies that leave me senseless and mesmerized
When once again I rediscover nature's true embrace
And see it then,
Glowing in the darkness
My path to salvation
It is not knowing when or how this life will end
It is time, time and how it is spent.
Take one moment of silence, un-distracted
And discover this life un-skewed and un-protracted.
Fearlessly gaze past the mortal self to see the unending majestic ascent
Into the realm of divinity
Where there is no death.
