I want a fly in my house.
I’ve wanted a fly in my house for ages.
Since Christmas I’ve been pressing
upside-down smiles hard into mizzled glazing
and aching; for a fly in my house.
I want a fly in my house.
I’ve wanted a fly in my house for months.
Round here, when the sun slumps it’s dark; we curl
into ourselves, self-composting.
I really do want a fly in my house.
I want a fly in my house.
Sometimes it feels like I’ve wanted a fly in my house forever.
Today, clammy bum; sod salved; boots slick with brown gold;
I take a pause, and a puff, from one glorious cigarette and laugh.
You perky little primrose.
BZZZZZzzzzzz...
