love can either be
hidden in your pocket
or buried in your heart.
love is either on fire
or smoldering
love used to be
marriage and reproduction
and dowries and livestock but
here we are, making it something
more.
love is either a heartfelt liar
or a heartless, hungry fool.
love, a brick building
or a weak foundation.
love, either
very sweet
or very cruel.
love, either
obnoxious or
trying to keep it
cool.
love, a useless,
dried-up word. it means
something different to everyone
and that is why i don't wish to use it.
love is too dynamic
and i've got problems
understanding it.
love: a
gloved term
that everyone
yearns for.

stunning, love that last stanza, "gloved" works in so many ways. As this poem perfectly describes, we could do with gloves to handle love.

I think the first stanza is,
I think the first stanza is, by far, the best. If more of the stanzas were comparable, then this would be a scintillating poem. Nevertheless, this is a nice poem of simple contrasts. I enjoyed reading it.
