Is it wrong to attempt?
Is it wrong to succeed?
Charcoal is black, beautiful.
Reminds me of my dad's grill.
I think of my body, supporting a
fire as it is pumped inside of me.
If the sky is grey,
then what is so wrong with wishing
to be grey also? If it is cold outside,
what is wrong with wishing for
a cold body, too?
Sunshine
doesn't save
you, and blankets
have lost their effect.
The fire inside of me
went out, and though they
attempt to relight it, the
best it gets to is
a desperate
flickering.

well made poem - sunshine doesnt? Oh dear. I was hoping it does. Grey - time to get the charcoal and pencils out and become fonder of grey is a good idea this poem just gave me!thanks :)

A poem that takes a journey

A poem that takes a journey through dark thoughts. Well crafted and provoking...made me feel cold, too.
Sunshine never stays, I think that is the sad thing about striving. It is hard to do, and just letting things be is easier, but only for a little while.
Never give up. Great poem.
