Questions

I'm torturing myself with silly questions
about the hidden destiny of those who entered
the blurring gates that lead to the timeless garden,
the one which is so close and yet unseen
except its earthy hallmarks - the moss-grown marble plates.

I wonder wheter they still exist?
Do they remeber anything about life
they thought to last forever
or are they nothing but the pale lines
in the dusty books of birth and death?

Shall I receive the answers
before I, myself, become
another part of the enigma?
