MUTTON DRESSED AS LAMB

She’s mutton dressed as lamb;
That’s what they think of her.
But she enjoys ‘those clothes’,
And they fit her figure.
Why should she wear drab hues,
Just because she’s older?
The insults she receives,
Drive her to be bolder.
“Just mutton dressed as lamb”;
Those words don’t upset her.
She’s not ruled by her age,
Others too were younger.
Jibes won’t lengthen her skirts,
Or do up her button,
Because when she was lamb,
She was dressed as mutton.
