Call me sad if it makes you feel happy.
If it makes you feel normal, say I’m strange.
Act like I’m nothing if it gives you worth,
But the truth is something you’ll never change.

Make me look small if it makes you feel big.
If it makes you feel strong, hurt my feelings.
Pretend I’m nasty if you’ll then feel nice,
But the truth cannot be changed by such things.

Make out I’m bad if it makes you feel good.
If it’s fun for you, cause me displeasure.
Say I don’t count if it makes you feel key,
But the truth will constantly know better.

Give me insults if it gives you a boost.
Give me grief if it gives cheer to your day.
Take the Mickey out of me if you must,
But you can never take the truth away.
