The bloody spikes

Like the damnable fences, they came without warning:
No court order, or decree, was seen signed. 
But within sheltered doorways and alcoves, 
They are becoming a far too familiar design. 
They have one form and one purpose:
To cause more indignity suffering and pain 
But as always: with all conservative mandates
That carries here within it the scent of bitter disdain 
“The poor we will always have with us, 
But we would rather that we never could see”
Are the whispered words given by the stately, 
As they dine at chequers for supper or tea. 
So they brush the homeless under the carpet; 
To leave many in such disarray 
For they want a world with their values
And the poor just hidden away. 
Now no hope rests here for the poor
No hope rests here for the meek
No hope rests here for the servants 
No hope: No chances, No seats. 
Is this the world that we wanted? 
Is this the world of the equal?
Are these the men we elected ? 
Or is it a place of neglect? 
So what will happen to these bloody spikes? 
How many will have to die?
Will there be a stadium tragedy 
Before the people outcry? 
Will the bloody spikes be removed, 
As the sickly impoverished nightly walk? 
Or will there be more chatter 
More pointless bloody talk. 
The homeless don’t want a hand out, 
They want a help up to start again, 
Because the homeless are there amongst us, 
Some are my dearest friends. 
They are not n just junkies or drunkards or boozed,
They are people just like you and me. 
So get off your arse Mr. Cameron ,
Don’t hide like the coward you seem. 
Make a decision, 
Be a real human, 
Stop making our poor nation bleed. 
Those bloody spikes are an insult, 
They are a slap in the face of the poor, 
They need to come down, 
So kick off your proud crown, 
Do something before you are poor.

So totally agree with this AD1.  I said somewhere else that every single one of those spikes is this country's shameless equivalent of an African blood diamond.  What has this country been brought to.  It is an utter, unmitigated DISGRACE.

Im sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. We have migrated from  Sussux to Devon and the garden needs a lot of work. When I finished, Lynette took me to  Exeter Quay for a beer and a sarnie. 
I am insensed by the spikes.  I wrote this in one blistering shout from my heart; and then changed it to fit ion with the garmmarians.  I find the whole issue very raw.  I have supported  the homeless in one way or another most of my adult life, wheter its bying the big issue, or taking someone in.  I have tried to all that I can and keep doing all that I can. I wrote this with a tear in my eye, so if the text does not work that well, I am sorry. What annoys me, right to the core, is that homelssness  need not be happening. But its getting worse every day and now these appauling spikes: its the fences at football grounds all over agian;only this time when people die, they will be forgotten about and brsushed under the carpet: this presdent governments answer to anything and everything.  If I knew what to do to stop them I would. I feel hurt deeply: like a raw wound that seeps tears of blood. 
The sad thing is, this needent be. Libraries that are closing  could be turned into local training centers with online courses, connected to local buisness's. houses that are lying dormant could be renovated, and instead of being sold to coke fulled executives, given as social housing, drug and rehab centers based along the swiss model  could help hundreds of lives every day. 
All of this costs  money but its money that could come from the renationalising of the utilities companies  which would bring money into the national bank. Instead, they cling to their corrupt market as if its the solution to all their ills, not knowing that its the very same market run by corporations who keep their tax free filthy lucre in off shore  accounts, that is breaking the nation states  apart . All fed with Business English. 
Tony Benn said "the greatest asset a nation has is its people."  I still hold this to be true. 
will it end?  I don't think it will. The young are too filled with their idolisation of the self, the elderly ae too old to hold the petrol bomb, meanwhile the middle people are in a minoiry. Moreover, the killservatives are winning.  Fear leads to hate. That is what is happening in the UK today.
