Scattered petals of cherry blossoms
Cut across the sunset's gaze
To find rest
Within the cool breath of its shadows
The time for peaceful meditations
And restoration of friendships
Ended
Splintered magnolian hearts wilt on branched veins
The spring had barely commenced
Before the icy fangs of death
Sank into its lonely shoulder
The breeze opens an entrancing ballet
Of pollen grains
Dancing, shape-shifting dragonflies
In the wind, they drift
Away
To do as pollen grains do
After a flower opens up to die.
