in the wind floats the ashes
of embers
ignited too fast
like petals of cherry blossoms
in the death of spring
they dance
to form smiles on the faces of all fathers in heaven
all-the-while
underneath the soot
cracks open earth
and out sprouts the bud
of a single white rose
