THE KERFUFFLE OF THE MOTHER'S DAY BREAKFAST

Once upon a time, my sister, Helen, and I made breakfast in bed for our mum, because it was Mother's Day.
We did her a fry up. I was in charge of the cup of coffee and the toast. Helen fried the eggs, bacon and tomatoes. The tomatoes and the eggs cooked OK, but the bacon was left in to long and got burnt. Helen had to cut off the black parts, but by the time she finished, there wasn't much bacon left.
As for me, I did the coffee, but the toast was also burnt. Someone had set the toaster onto 6, and didn't set it back to 3, so the toast went all black and charred. There was no more bread left, so I figured that Mum would have to eat the toast I'd done.
Helen and I put the breakfast on a tray to take upstairs; it wasn't til we left the kitchen that we discovered the kitchen was in smoke.
All in all, it was the first and worst Mother's Day Breakfast we'd ever cooked.
