Forever seemed so plausible and real then.
Then what happened next?
Next thing I knew you’d left.
Left me with mouth hanging open.
Open to all the pain that then poured.
Poured down my throat till I begged STOP.
Stop this deafening roar at night,
Night being the hardest time.
Time that forced me to remember.
Remember how you were with me?
Me and you, we could conquer everything.
Everything just came to a halt.
Halt my dreams, my hope, my life.
Life – what’s the point?
Point me to some reason to live.
