Cheated

Time, you Thief
have stolen all our moments
our hovered unkisses
our suspended unembraces
you have ticked
tocked on, unfeeling
held ransom on eternal brink
in wait of plunge
of freefall
into requited love's enfolding
Air, you Cheat
have withheld lightning
left ions fully charged
yet unignited
strangled our one two three Mississippis
so passion is gingered, unthundered
when gaze could not meet, melt
into dizzying pools of abandon
two halves not meld maddened
into depths of languid sublime
Silence, you Liar
have uttered only nothings
spoken what was never said
kept words at bay, at arm's length
suspicion robbing all soul's solace
plundering heart's lean content
till minds became frozen wastelands
locked, floundering aimless
in lost, loose sands
But now at last
our time has clocked
our breath exhaled
our songs escaped
For faith banishes hours, miles and voices
And love vanquishes their vagabond robbery
in the single meeting of
our eyes, our palms, our lips
