Desert Eyes

Swallow me whole
engulf me
with your hungered gaze
your azured almonds ablaze
with a million Saharan fires
wordless interrogate me
through sand-laden lashes
long parched of horizons beyond
your drommedaire’s plod...
Who, you ask
am I to roam your soul
inspect you as insect
as mere fodder for my
stranger’s lust
to fathom the depths
of your abandoned dreams?
What right have I you hissed, sizzled
to infiltrate your horizonless ennui
pillage again your voided yesterdays
and penetrate the sunbleached veils
of all your tomorrows
only to silent forsake you -
your thirst for all you want to know of me
unslaked
So you are once again
roamed without permission
then deserted in my wake of
designer trainers upon
the sands of your dessicated heart.

Your words really evoke the
Your words really evoke the stories and mystery that this vast place has hidden in its heart. Events that continue to unfold.
I liked your words
your thirst for all you want to know of me
unslaked
showing a bit of role reversal between man (or woman) and desert.
I enjoyed this. Good on you!
