My name is Patch.
I like to latch onto
trees, or your leg if 
I please. Sometimes
I fling, full-bodied,
to cling on a lamp post
like a white ghost at
midnight, witless fright
mid-quarrel, lovers full
of sorrow. And I miaow
till they smile again
in their eyes, catch
their sighs to thank
Patch, who did just that:
Magic Cat, sent from above
to save their love.
