Rocky and Haza waved goodbye to the animals as they left for a holiday in New York. Once they reached New York, they saw people walking and staring at them which made them curious. Then they realised it was because they were animals carrying suitcases. Haza thought it would be nice and fun to go around introducing himself as a harmless lion so that people took interest in him. However, the more he said, “I’m a friendly lion who comes in peace,” the more people stared at him strangely as they walked past. This made Rocky angry.
“Haza, stop it, you’re making a fool of yourself. They don’t want to interact with our kind. Anyway, we’re only here to explore New York and head back home, that’s it. Don’t do anything stupid or else I’ll regret my trip.”
Haza said, “Chill, don’t worry.”
To which Rocky replied, “Shut up.”
Haza and Rocky kept walking till they came across the Empire State Building. Rocky wasn’t interested but Haza became excited.
“Let’s go inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art instead,” Rocky said.
“Have you gone crazy? I’m not interested in no Metropolitan Museum of Art. You go if you wish to,” Haza replied.
“Suit yourself.”
Haza rushed inside the Empire State Building. There people stared at him, which made him feel awkward. So he slowly crept away from the scene and went exploring the place. Rocky, worried about leaving his friend alone in a strange country since he had a very excitable nature when he came to new places. What he might end up doing could possibly end both of them in trouble. So he abandoned the idea of going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and decided to join him.
When Haza saw him he asked, “What made you change your mind? I knew deep inside as a best friend, you wanted to join me.”
Rocky replied, “Nothing of the sort, dude. I’m just looking out for you because I fear that you might cause trouble.
Haza replied, “As if I cause trouble.”
Rocky sternly warned, “Haza, don’t touch anything.”
Haza said, “I won’t touch anything.”
They kept walking till they came across a big Million Dollar sign which made Haza jump with excitement.
“Cool it! It’s the big Million Dollar sign.” And without thinking, Haza jumped on the million dollar sign which crashed on the floor with a loud thud.
Everyone stood there gasping including Rocky. Once Haza saw people looking at him with shock, he turned round to Rocky.
“Have I done something wrong?”
Rocky angrily replied, “Need I answer that?”
Then a security guard came rushing towards them, blowing his whistle. They rushed out feeling scared.
Rocky said, “Good thing he didn’t catch us or else we would be put in jail.”
Haza said, “I’m sorry.”
Rocky said, “Sorry doesn’t cut it. I only have one regret so far, don’t make me regret anymore.”
Haza did when they sat on top of the tour bus. He chatted about silliness which disturbed the other tourists. Rocky couldn’t enjoy the tour as he was embarrassed, but Haza continued, “Guys, it’s the first time I’m in New York and on a tour bus too. Isn’t that awesome?”
He kept on going on till everyone decided to stop at a random place and get off which made Haza curious. He asked Rocky, “Rocky, why did everyone leave?”
Rocky replied, “I told you before not to communicate with these people so without embarrassing me any further, do me a favour and SIT DOWN BEING QUIET AND ENJOY THE VIEW.”
Haza sat down, pouting softly. “Sorry, Rocky.”
Rocky just nodded his head. When they got off, they headed back home where everyone asked, “How was the trip?”
Rocky said, “Ask him yourself.”
Haza replied, “It was fun. We both think so.”
Rocky said, “No, he ruined my day by winding me up and not letting me enjoy in peace. But he had a blast.”
To wind each other up everyone suggested that they should have gone together. They wanted Rocky not to feel upset. Eventually Rocky saw how funny it would have been for a whole herd of animals to travel round New York, rather than just a gorilla and lion, and laughed. They had cheered him up.
