The Corn of Redemption

As the boogeyman tries to catch me, I run into the Lord’s cornfield,
As the boogeyman tries to catch me, I hide into the Lord’s cornfield,
As the boogeyman tries to catch me, I get into the Lord’s cornfield.
As I try to run away, I leave a trail of broken maize flowers,
As I try to run away, I leave a trail of disappointment,
As I try to run away, I leave a trail of hatred.
Will the trail of broken maize flowers help the boogeyman find me?
Will the trail of broken promises help the boogeyman catch me?
Will the trail of broken hearts help the boogeyman see me?
Lord, will you save me from sinning?
Lord, will you save me from my own wickedness?
Lord, will you save me from my darkest desires?
If the boogeyman finds out where I’m hiding, I will sin again!
If the boogeyman finds out where I’m hiding, I will be mean again!
If the boogeyman finds out where I’m hiding, I will be a bad boy again!
When I drank the devil’s water you gave me a second chance,
When I got into fist fights you gave me a third chance,
When I cursed you gave me a fourth chance!
Perhaps you can find a way to stop me from sinning forever,
Perhaps you can find a way to stop me from having dark desires forever,
Perhaps you can find a way to stop me from being a bad boy forever.
But if the boogeyman finds me out, there is no stopping from sinning,
But if the boogeyman catches me out, there is no stopping from my darkest desires,
But if the boogeyman sees me out, there is no stopping from my hatred!
Dear Lord, only your crops of maize flower can protect me from sinning again,
Dear Lord, only your crops of corn plant can protect me from being a bad boy again,
Dear Lord, only your crops of Zea Mays can protect me from unleashing my darkest temptations.
I can hear the boogeyman’s footsteps getting closer,
I can hear the boogeyman’s breath getting heavier,
I can hear the boogeyman’s whispering getting louder!
Dear Lord, I hope your field of maize flower can hide me until my temptations go away forever,
Dear Lord, I hope your field of corn plant can heal me until I’m good forever,
Dear Lord, I hope your field of Zea Mays can heal me until he goes away forever!
Will you ever accept me back into your temple, only for me to disappoint you again?
Will you ever accept me back into your temple, only for me to lie again?
Will you ever accept me back into your temple, only for me to disobey again?
