A man's finest hour (take 1)

Tunnel vision
the iron mask infront of his eyes
the helmet snug on his head,
60 minutes of brutal work,
constant running, knees ache,
thighs ache, calves ache, hamstrings ache,
constant battering, back aches,
shoulders ache, ribs ache,
60 minutes of blood, sweat, and tears,
broken fingers and noses,
pushing your body to it's limits
so at the end of those 60 minutes
you can lay on the turf, broken,
brusied, injured,
but victorious.
Vince Lombardi
"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious."
