"You're my mum, you're my mum."
You say you love me,
it's just a lie
but i trust you,
and i don't know why.
You shout a swear
without a care
and beat my till i bruise,
you broke my ribs
scarred my arm
all while watching the news.
"Thousands of children
beat in own home."
That will never be my child
you say,
well now i'm here
in my room
looking over my shoulder.
I hope your not squeamish
I hope you don't whine,
because when my back is turned
my bruises shine.

Well thought out poem
Well thought out poem andrew_evans, and a difficult subject, like the first stanza best, ( "your" should be "you're"), nice last line as well,
