The start of something new

The start of something new is always scary

and I find that I often become too wary,

but things are different with her,

It's not all dark and scary,

It's light, bright and happy,

all smiles and laughter

not immanent disaster.

For the first time in a long time

my heart flutters

and flaps around in my chest,

this feeling is the best

I've felt in a while,

and it even makes my day

every time she smiles.
