Because I can’t talk (to you)

Where have I gone?
Deflated ,bruised again,
(silenced, mute)
You haven’t hit me then;
We have been here before
-it doesn’t last.
It is a storm, tornado,
simple show of human
weather, passing, temporal.
Do I take it,
or face the
world alone?
- I don’t think so,
(it’sonlywordsit’sonly
wordsit’sonlywords-
I ‘ll say it again,
it’sonlywords.)
Everything belongs in
words, they are the wrapping,
the packaging,the
protection for the
fragile,the vulnerable.
Words wrap feelings,stroke
and verify. So you see
‘it’s only words’
doesn’t work for me.
Words are where I am,
so now your hurricane
of mere language has
blown me right
out of sight. Out
of range.
I feel the shame,
hopelessness of our
nowness, with no yesterday
to smooth the way, and no
tomorrow beckoning.
Our nowness,
as we circle the same hurts,
familiar thrusts of never forgottens
threatening .
I’m scared.
