Up the road,
past the Sportspark,
like we do
every week.
I'm dolled up
to go to asda,
you're bouncing
on your new nikes.
We chat about
some mindless shit,
like we do
all day long.
It's only as
we reach the car
that you realise
something's wrong.
Are you joking?
No, I can't do it.
I'm not getting in
your girlfriend's car!
Up until now
she didn't exist.
You've really gone
too fucking far.

Lovely neat twist in the final stanza. Really enjoyed this, melodramatic but not mundane.

I enjoyed the short punchy structure and the final stanza. I can picture this couple.
The beat of your heart is the mellifluent rhythm to my soul.
