Invited over to yours,
sweet tea to drink
and biscuits to crunch.

Above our heads, across your walls
the beautiful body’s of butterflies.
Framed, hung, displayed.
Captured forever in glass.

Dried, moisture and life removed.

The glorified body of the victim.
Labelled, filed and sorted
for the viewer’s convenience.

And below
we make mindless,
faceless chitchat.

I cant help but wonder,
what if you took a liking to me.
