Form fascists unite

Why does a poem have to have meter?
Why can it not include listings, or lines
Of Sentiments written down? What defines
A poem? And, would it not be neater,
If what we wrote on the paper either
Did not form letters or, perhaps sometimes
Were scribbly symbols and there were no rhymes?
How dare we limit what poetry features?
But saying that poetry's anything's false.
Why just include speech? Why not include sounds?
Are marches poems? Or, maybe, a Waltz?
Why not a fridge or some jars of bath salts?
And soon we might eclipse all other nouns
Why can't something diff'rent be something else
