Golden Jubilee
Give me fifty reasons to celebrate the Queen.
For she like non other has in the spotlight been
The world has changed since she began.
Empires have crumbled and the maps have been redrawn.
Powers rose and roared, as the Iron curtain dawned,
But through the darkness her royal radiance shone.
Children who witnessed her head with crown adorned
Now have children of their own, even grandchildren born.
Still Elizabeth reigns noble and glorious over subjects all.
She has shared the pain of others, even wiped the tears
Of many other people who often lived in fear.
Coaxing freedom, she stands by every subject soul.
This majestic lady, is a royal Protector of the faith
She is no pious despot, distant from her realm.
Every subject valued high, and treasured in her heart.
When she first ascended, a nation looked on in hope.
A brave new world was forming from the English Oak.
Whilst we rebuilt the world from war with bricks of clay,
She made again the bonds of men that shattered lay.
To Her Royal Majesty
