She wore a hat of coral pink feathers
layered among copious chestnut curls
one large feather clung irresistibly
along her cheek.
A cream dress of rich raw silk
draped a curvaceous body,
tiny feet encased by the softest calf skin
high heeled and strappy
the colour of the hat feathers.
(In her minds eye) Parisian chic;
a woman with style
cast in haute couture
her ensemble worn with pride
(in reality) her role discreet;
she was just the Mother of the bride.

What a delightful picture you paint with your words, Val. I can almost see her.
