Lucy's Lamp

Lucy's Lamp
In what seemed a darkened room
Lucy's light shone out to me.
The tranquil, sensory trail
Led me to her lonely throne.
I treasure little in life
My mortal coil runs smoothly
Living all to easy, don't you agree?
Sights, sounds, smells and chat come free.
But I saw a message here.
Lucy's beacon lit my mind.
Darkened shadows came to life
And danced a jig of silent shame.
She could treasure simple sounds,
Triumphant, undefeated
She savoured every passing moment,
Each step a victory gained.
I paused, pondered and felt ashamed.
Arrogant, resplendent in my ignorance
My condescending pity withered in her presence.
I, the tutor had come to learn.
If you want to see a truly stunning light,
Then tread humbly to her seated throne.
Lucy will not preach, nor condemn you.
But her simple message will touch your inner soul.
