Nowhere Man
Bangor Man, that's what I'll call you.
Though Raymond be your name.
It was on a sunny August day
That our mortal pathways crossed
And sage-like truths exchanged.
You should call me mortgage man.
Though Graham be MY real name.
That sunny August day
Taught me to be humble
And with reflect upon my goals in life;
Remembering just what I really am.
Instead of cherishing the greed of gold
And all the vanity of a material world.
I should be looking at the truth within my empty soul.
Your cardboard, mobile home gave you time to think.
Possessions just clutter up the mind.
We parted friends that sunny day.
Each to tread a different path,
But both condemned to that single journey
Where the reaper calls out 'time'.
