Ofsted's sinister shadow

Once my teacher smiled all serene
We meandered along life's learning trail
The class was rapt before her throne
No one breathed ere we snuff her flame
Fear has raped her innocence calm
Some sinister dark stalks her mind
She spurns the timid succoured plea
The changeling being lives in dread
Sinister clouds gather apace
A vortex plan now sucks her in
The timeless song she sweetly sang
Becomes a shrill staccato race
Teachers scurry like frightened rats
The battered sanctum's walls are breached
An Ofsted ogre storms within
Practise over, we play the game
Ever urgent, insistent tones
Whispered promises bribe our minds
We mumble half-remembered truths
That seems to make the ogre smile
Deep within each teacher's troubled soul
A tormented battle rages still
To dance the pipers mournful tune
Or seek a way, our hearts to thrill
