It's one of those lovely sunny Spring days where you can almost
taste the approach of summer.
The birds are singing.
I've been swimming. Feeling all fit and healthy.
Also had a picnic by the river of healthy salads followed by pain au
chocolat.
R's travel ban has been lifted so he had to go to Antwerp at 5am this
morning. He'll be back home again tonight. I guess they lifted the ban
when they realised that the war wasn't going to finish in a couple of
weeks. They probably calculated how much money they would lose if it
went on for some time. Something like that. Anyway, it was nice for R
to have a couple of weeks off from the routine.
Last night we popped to the pub and met A and D for a drink. We talked
about skiing (I said nothing on that), weddings, job-hunting, work,
holidays and for some reason I can't remember, buying tea and coffee
canisters from TK Max. We also bumped into P and J and also JP there. I
feel like a character in a soap opera where I go down the local and
know who'll be there in which corner. Unlike a soap there were no
fights, it's not that kind of place really. I had two delicious white
wines with soda. I love the way they do them in that place.
Tonight is Friday night so that means R and I will be ordering our
take-away curry later. The curry shop will say it'll take 45 minutes.
That's what they say EVERY week, no matter what. It's strange because
that's also what the local taxi company always says&;#8230; 45
minutes&;#8230; and it rarely is for either of them. R gets VERY
cross when the taxi is late. He doesn't get cross at all when the curry
is late. He just leaves his on the side until he comes home from the
pub and heats it up later. I eat mine at normal evening meal time.
Usually in front of the telly watching some drivel or other.
