Parade
I am leading a parade of poems
elephant through the night
and like the edge of a wine glass folding
or a flopping fish bellying
they wont walk into their houses.
I lay tables
unpack line pillows
present origami punctuation.
They will not wink
they will not shut their feet off
they will not look at light
but prefer the gutter snug
still of the rum tree.

Cor! I don't half love your
Cor!
I don't half love your poems and no mistake.
The gap between what you're saying in words and what you're saing in meaning is like that great chasm at the end of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
This is a good thing.
Cheers,
Mark
