Private Eye - September 11 2002

07.11 am I am listening to the Alkaline Trio's album again. It isn't
raining either.

Yesterday (10) I woke up at 6.15 and fed the cats, they both made it to
the kitchen at the same time. I wrote up my journal, checked email and
then got the 8.22 to London. On the train I listened to The Pattern. I
went to the office and spent the morning working on the mainframe app
and also doing the tapes and trying to find stuff to do to keep busy.
There were lots of meetings this morning for other people.

At lunchtime I bought three CDs in HMV, the new Sleater Kinney album
which was recommended to me and two new albums, one by the Halo and the
other by a band called Something Corporate. I also sorted out a new
mobile phone - a Nokia 3410 - with TMobile. This may mean I cancel my
Orange phone when it comes up for renewal or switch it to pay as u go,
or just change the plan to something cheaper, now I no longer use it
that often. The idea for the other phone is to use the number for
freelance work (if I ever get started) and try to use it
properly.

The afternoon was quiet as well. I did the tapes, showing Chris to
close the tape drive door otherwise it doesnt work.

I got the 17.15 home, and listened to Something Corporate, who are a
bit Jimmy Eat World. I got in, played the guitar, had a bath. I went
online for a while, then went in the NME chat. I spoke to a few people
in there. It starts quiet then there is some slagging and wind ups and
then there is an opportunity to talk about favourite bands. Or whatever
happens to be of interest. I am getting more familiar with the people
in there, and who not to speak to.

I logged off at midnight and we went to bed.

I didnt watch Star Wars as it was on in the other room.
