rainseat

I sit in my lunchbreak staring at the rain outside, thinking of you.
Then go back to my desk and take calls from an endless fatigue of
people, demanding my attention, answering all their questions with the
calm of a well programmed customer care robot. I give advice and type
notes on computers; but I'm not really there, my heart is like the
clouds, ethereal, free of the cables, travelling the sky, wishing and
willing for the hands on the clock, to suddenly turn from 8 to 6.30 in
an instant. So I can physically log out of here and rush home in the
grey skyscrape dripped pavements glistening bright in the setting
afternoon sun of this ache and follow the longing trail within. Hold
you in my arms again like a rainbow, and not withhold a single jewel to
show you how much you mean to me.
