Night is velvet soft as silence descends
on thrumming busy roads so still at last;
the day’s dull cares and worries long since past,
time to rest, time to reflect make amends.
Night is velvet soft it wraps us around,
time to make love, time to sleep, time to dream;
our quiet times together it would seem
are the night time hours when peace is found.
Lying silently in each others' arms;
sometimes wakeful most times sleeping we rest
but over all perfect silence for lest
we break the spell; robbing night of her charms.
Just your gentle breathing disturbs the night;
all else is silence until morning's light.
