08.12 am Up again. Well I was going to get up at 6.15 but my wife
said there was no way she was going to let me set the alarm and then
have it go off three times, while I kept falling asleep. She asked me
why I had to get up early, and I said that's when I write in the
morning. I did wake up at 5.15 but too tired, so I got up a couple of
hours later.
Yesterday (18) was good. I woke, fed the cats and then went online. I
had a look at the forums and then wrote my journal. I played guitar for
a while, then messaged Erin. A while later my wife went swimming so I
was able to ring Erin, and we were on the phone for an hour. We talked
bout lots of things. About cabbage, and why a milk saucepan is better
enamelled than stainless steel. I finished my call as my wife came
back.
We drove to Leigh and had a coffee in Irma's where my wife told me
about this office space she was getting in Hadleigh. She will move her
Mac and her books for work into the space she will rent. I dont know
how much it costs, but she did say that none of my stuff was going up
there. I said but how are you going to do work in the evening if you
have to, and it looks like I will need to sort that out as well.
Then we walked to Shullys, where I eat a bagel and some Latkes and fish
balls. My wife refused the Latke and said the fish balls smelt of cat
food, for all I know they are catfood neatly fried in batter.
Then we went in Vie for another cofFee so she could read the papers. We
drove home, and after another practice on the guitar I went on line
about 4pm and listened to My Vitriol's FineLines (which I am listening
to now). I had a chat with a friend, then logged off for a while. I
went back on line a little later and listened to FineLines followed by
the second CD which I played solidly till midnight, I really like it.
They even cover Madonna's song "Oh Father". Erin came online about six
I guess, and we chatted from 6.30 till midnight. We got disconnected a
few times. Once it was quite long so I rang Erin and we spoke on the
phone for a while.
We spent a lot of time on the Net looking at different sites while we
chatted. 'Always Your Way' reminds me a lot of Erin. We worked a few
stories, one about a motorcycle gang where Evil Larry gets melted by a
chocolate malt and Steve gets the girl. And another where the Doctor,
Scott and Debra get captured by Daleks. One fragment was where the
Doctor has to answer questions based on Debra's knowledge of
Scott:
"32, 6'4", yes, no, only occasionally, all the time, often, only when
he is asleep, never, certainly, sometimes, no, no, no, yes, yes, yes,
often, in his dreams, passionately, cries, no, sometimes, definitely,
enormous, many, and the final one is he hopes so"
The Black Dalek says "And the last question?"
to which the Doctor replies: "Oh, honestly, yes, since before Debra
learned how to cook an omelette, " and Scott looks at the Doctor, "I
thought I told you not to mention that" "He asked" said the Doctor
pointing. Scott walks over to Debra. He touches her hair. Debra smiles.
"Thats okay, omelettes are fun, you cant make one without breaking any
eggs." The Black Dalek is overcome with emotion and the three of them
are set free.
I had to log off at midnight or else. My wife thought I was signing off
at 11.30 you see. I still cannot believe I listened to the same CD for
over four hours, and nearly ran out of cigarettes. But it was good to
talk to Erin on the phone, but it is not easy to chat and talk at the
same time so we didnt talk for long.
Today's weather has changed a lot from last week, it was still sunny
but the oppressive heat we had last week had dissapated. It is sunny
now though.
My niece dropped in the money she owed me for Reading through the
letter box and that together with the money I drew from the bank and
the money I had in my jacket gives me nearly ?400. I won't take all of
it to Reading. Maybe just enough for food and a couple of shirts and
travel and maybe more toilet paper. The final plan seems to be a train
up Thursday and a lift back in the car on Monday. I don't know if I
have a sleeping bag. Our neighbour's cat used it as a bed and guffed up
on it a while ago. It's been cleaned since then but my wife may have
given it back to her sister. I also found self heating cans of
coffee.
So I may take those, bananas and 200 cigarettes.
I had some strange dreams last night. In one I was trying to sort out
some cats that were strays and lived in the shed at the bottom of this
garden, and this woman said she could cure them. They were suffering
from loneliness and being a little odd, like one had one eye bigger
than the other and two of them were quite insecure, you see. Or so they
thought, but I liked them. And in another I was out back of this
airport place but it was a rail marshalling yard and grass had
overgrown the track and the trains just whizzed through and people were
crossing the tracks between the trains, and then it was just an old
right of way and cars and VW Station Wagons were driving up and down
it. I had to drive one of the trains which burnt coal and occasionally
I could see my face, unshaven, sweaty in the pilot glass. Then someone
said that the marines were here to stoke the coal so keep driving the
train.
