Confirmation

It is Springtime, when a new daffodil
Breaks through the softening earth
And peeps into the freshened air
Warmed by the nurturing sun
Blooms into something lovely
For everyone to behold

It is Springtime, when a young girl
Approaches the church of God
To join a bishop and confirm her faith
Warmed by the light of the Holy Spirit
Blooms in her loveliness
For everyone to behold

It is Springtime when this happens
And there is someone far away
Who cannot be with her on the day
But who feels he blossomed grace
And sees the light a little brighter in the sky
