Under a Cloud
The sun doesn't shine in my heart
I'm under a cloud.
The gentle zephyrs can't breeze my soul
I'm under a cloud.
No sleep of the just, nor righteous rest
I'm under a cloud.
Banned from the land of rest, I roam my restless mind,
I'm under a cloud.
The slow motion ticking clock marks the endless night,
I'm under a cloud.
Beneath the linen shrouds I sink,
I'm under a cloud.
Neither rhyme nor reason can explain my leaden heart,
I'm under a cloud.
I breathe another anxious, shallow breath and stare around
I'm under a cloud.
