Underwater

without you
my life aches a desert
where the walls of sand
stifle my breath
choke
my heart

tells me:
leave this marshland behind
you only get one shot at life
journey the long miles
be with her while you can

before time rolls up it's scroll
and regret reminds of
hours missed...
which could've been...

before stagnation freezes me solid
and my energy fades...

... as the slow lulling water covers my face
