My heart expands and swells to fill every crevice of my body.
Filling me and devouring me. Pressing against my stomach, my lungs, my
throat.
Filling my skull and leaving me faint and dreamy. I want you to
untie
this knot in my stomach. I want this hook in my drying throat to
be
tethered to your beating heart, my quickened pulse twinned with
yours.

When I think of you I smile the widest, brightest smile. A smile
that could shatter the dark cold night into tiny pieces of ebony and
unleash
the hidden splendours of the universe with laser-light glee.

I step out into the world and I see you in every woman.
I see your face reflected in every shop front window. I hear your
voice
in every passing conversation, your warm laughter lifted into the
air
with every head-back burst of joy. Everything a memory of you.

I dream of kissing you softly on tender lips. I dream of lying on
musty
sofas with my head pressed to your chest listening to your heart.
Listening to the rise
and fall of each breath. I want to rise and fall with you. With your
breath. With your heart.
