I know I am missing you
all the time; not in your absences,
but all the time. Because I am
clocking the countless ways
I used to think of you,
when you were not here.
And how the heart fathomed
the length of time, by
the breathlessness of re-union.
I miss the runaway heartbeats
tap-tapping in the background
building to crescendo and
cartwheeling on collision.
I know I am missing you,
not with sadness of parting,
nor with the loss by death.
But with the slow, merciless
continuation of the mundane.
We're both still here, unchanged,
waiting for reunion, knowing each,
of the other, will feel the same.

This is a great line:
'And how the heart fathomed
