Yuppie Lifestyle
This modern term of choice for some,
That succours those inadequate ones.
Those who crave power and total choice.
Sold to them with frightening ease
Because they desperately need to believe.
Suddenly, tomorrows dream happens
Because they decide it so.
Control freaks ease their stormy souls,
By ordering existence and dictating what should be.
Listen! You fragile fools!
Your cellophane lives are surface deep
And far too short to waste.
The yuppie-like, pygmyied, vain contrivance
That you call 'life', is terminally flawed.
Your empty visions will survive to haunt you,
When you find yourself alone.
Instead of building bridges that lead to friends for life,
You spent the credits of time on frivolous empty toys.
That universal currency that fills a soul with joy,
In your account is overdrawn
And should the reaper call you home.
Not one moral penny would you have for Sharon's fateful purse.
Back and forth for all of time
for the want of a tender, helping word.
Just as Scrooge spun a web of self
And nearly paid the price.
Your empty, selfish life has but a single course.
Change tracks now.
Life is a single ticket, don't waste the journey, please.
