Randolph the Rabbit in his burrow one day,
was fed up and bored and wanted to play.
"You can't go outside" his mother would say,
"the snow is too thick on the ground".
But Randolph the Rabbit was not pleased at all,
he managed to sneak outside with his ball.
Away down the field and over a wall.
The snow was quite thick on the ground.
He was hopping, jumping and running about.
Playing and singing so glad to be out.
He would never have heard if his mother did shout,
"The snow is too thick on the ground!"
Randolph the Rabbit his ears dipped in frost,
suddenly realised and knew he was lost.
He'd travelled too far and found to his cost,
the snow was too thick on the ground.
He pushed and he pulled until he'd turned blue,
both feet were stuck fast, what on earth should he do?
He remembered her words but he already knew.
The snow was too thick on the ground.
He cried and he cried and no one could hear.
He wanted his mother but no one came near.
He couldn't get out he was trapped to his ear
The snow was so thick on the ground.
Randolph the Rabbit was sinking down quick.
His poor head was aching, his tummy felt sick.
He turned this way and that and gave out a kick.
The snow was too thick on the ground.
Randolph the Rabbit had buried his head.
But stuck in the air his tail turned bright red.
If only he'd listened to what mummy had said,
"The snow is too thick on the ground!"
So Randolph was stuck with his tail in the air.
He suddenly found that his mummy was there.
She pulled on his tail until it was bare
The snow was so thick on the ground.
With a loud plop he came out of the snow
with ice on his nose and his tail all a glow
Mummy was right and mummy's should know
when the snow is too thick on the ground.
She gave him a hug, a kiss and a squeeze.
"Don't ever run off by yourself agian, please!"
The Randolph the rabbit had started to sneeze
The snow was so cold on the ground.
Then smiling she held his hand very tight
and took him to bed because now it was night.
They laughed at his tail, what a terrible sight!
Stuck out of the snow on the ground.
