The Madman's Cry

Shadows looming in the deeper recesses of my thoughts,
deny any comfort there
The realization of a cold, cruel world,
leaves one reeling for a safe and private place,
only to be repelled into a world of midnight
with the grey image of betrayal seared and sizzled
in ones eyes by the fires of injustices served…
A place devoid of compassion and understanding
A cold place without the warmth of love to heat it
And the cries of sadness only bounce off the walls
of a hollow world,
to come back to you as a madman’s cry
