‘Coming Home’
Ah stream, you’ve changed and yet remained
determined to meet your sea, prismed ripples thrown
Constant chatter to each stone you hurry along
past banks and falls shaped to fit your play
gliding ever in touch with whatever you carry away
past basking trout, a mayfly's dare, is to roam
in life’s countdown, the odds against have grown
But stream, you know - You’ll always be coming home

Very visual and carefully
Very visual and carefully worded without waste. Did you mean 'your mayfly's dare, (is) to roam.' or 'your mayflies dare to roam' ? Wasn't sure. Excellent though.

Wonderful internal rhyming
Wonderful internal rhyming here, Rob...change/remained, prism/ripples, for example. In all an enigmatic piece, as its subject.
Very much enjoyed, and by reading it just now you have taken me away from the mundane (polishing, dusting, etc.) and transported me to somewhere I would much rather be. Thank you
Tina

Hi Rob,
Hi Rob,
being a water sign I was drawn to this poem.
I love the thought you've given to the musing of the stream, as it meanders along, taking in all it encounters along the way.
Very much enjoyed reading.
Jenny.
