‘Goodbye to a Bitch’

Another wine to reinforce the smirk of your success
the ‘oh-so-together’ confidence taken from your lie
Savour revenge’s bitter sweet taste if you must,
for the follies of your judgments cast shall not wane
nor sharpen the blurred image within your fading mirror
How sad, that your vanity will endure far beyond my humiliation
How sad, your obsessive need to plot my fate without any ability
to consider the true weight of your dishonesty upon your own
How sad, your vinegar needs to reinforce such inane insecurities
Though my caring had been lost long before this, your greatest day
the cold steel of those shackles binding me to your best play
really only served to remind me of the depth of pity held for you
How sad, I thought. How sad, your life’s empty worthlessness grew
What could you have achieved, had you learned to not be as you are?
What could you have aspired to
had you sincerely chosen to rise above such predictability
and perhaps abandon your obvious genetic disposition
if only to become real; or just anything less than such a tramp!
