As Only True Lovers Can

How I want to secretly seduce you
from within the embers of my soul
as only true lovers can
Take in a lifetime’s heat, these words
while they smolder before the dawn
Take in my love, my all
for I know that I am home
when we melt in our embrace
Take away these aching, burning lips
with desire wet and drawn
as only true lovers can
sharing crystal dew before the dawn
Let me hold this moment,
your sweet breath slows throughout this time
with our hearts beating welcome
to this days first slivers of golden light
and birdsong; celebrates news of this love
Here an orb spider has long cast his silken nets
diligently tending to favourite harbor sounds
Salty comings and goings sway to our news
of glistening beads of lovers, damp warmth
Fishing for the promise of any breath caught
as only true lovers can, we taste our thoughts
and they smolder to flame once more
while you politely ask the spider to look away
So tell me, will we always spark
these embers deep within our souls
as only we true lovers can?
Here we live within our love satisfied, untorn
content to ride this feeling to the shores of evermore
no skies nor silken threads could restrain this passion so
On the edge of where no heart could ever survive alone
great love forged within such embers, is truely born
and in this great love heartbeats merge, a spider weaves his plans
and we melt into each other, as the sea covers her sand
oh how we melt, into each other as, only true lovers can...

Hi Rob,,,this poem was
Hi Rob,,,this poem was sizzling and oozing romance. I loved the lines:- and in this great love heartbeats merge, a spider weaves his plans and we melt into each other, as the sea covers her sand oh how we melt, into each other as, only true lovers can... There are so many beautiful lines, I also liked the bit about the spider casting silken nets. You've done it again and I very much enjoyed reading. Jenny.
