Antique Shop "Special"

In a sunny afternoon
Passing an antique shop
They had a sale
For a man-size mirror
"Special" was their claim
Nearby, I inspected the said item
The glass with mahogany frame
The mirror didn't look "special"
For sure, it had seen better days
Everything
From top to bottom
Showed signs of wear and decay
The glass was blurred
At some areas
Some scratches here and there
It could have been
A quality piece
If given some proper care
Indeed, the price should cheapened
As the quality clearly suggests
But one look at the discounted price
Surely, this must be a jest!
A man in a suit stopped
His attention caught
By the discount sign
He stared
At the mirror blankly
For a long span of time
His reflection
Suddenly fazed
Turned into an
Impoverished version of himself
Knocking with its left
Begging with its right
Asking,
"Maybe some change would help"
He stood there
As if hypnotized
His soul
A white ghost
Floats to the mirror
Away from its host
The reflection
Was now
The man in the suit
The man in front of me
Now in rags and dirt
The man surveyed around him
The mirror behind
Reflection nowhere to be found
For it had walked away
He goes deeper into the city
For a better place to beg
I guess
