As spring appears through open door
And blossom sways on gentle breeze
And hearts soften as before.

The earth so dark and bare
That I wondered if spring would come
And lightness reappear.
But winter has broken its solid hold
As the howling winds relax
And lambs gamble to and fro
And clothes are brighter to.
