Death

A death of someone close changes everyone in many different ways. Some people hide behind laughter, others isolate themselves to avoid more pain, some just brake down because they just cant cope, while I just try to move on as quickly as possible (or pretend to).

There are also some who start to constantly think about how unfair life is. These people sometimes become bitter and rude to everyone they meet, because they believe that no one else could possibly understand that particular pain of losing someone who was such a huge part of their life and knowing for an absolute fact that that person is never coming back.

So next time you meet a particularly difficult old man, think of who he's lost over the years. He may have lost his wife or be the last of several children or even the last member of his entire family. But there are some very lucky people, who believe that those who are dead are not gone, but just waiting for you to join them. And how I wish I were one of these people.

But I do wander, what do other people do? What kind of person are you?

I think the end is the end. No one comes back to disprove it, but I think the important thing is to face the truth as you see it!

although my point was lat people lat do beleive in an afterlife are lucky

awww, thats really sweet and thank you for commenting. I made that point about the old man caz my gran was quite a nasty old hag before she went...turns out lat her and her sister (my aunt, whos still alive and just as bitter) was the last of eight children and i cant even imagin wat it must be like to not have any parents, aunts, grandparents or uncles left in the family tree...yeah u get my point. But before she died...well she didnt want to die but she certainly wasn't afraid of death, caz she was a devoted calthlic (lats irish for ur) and i guess the rest of the poem was how everyone reacted to her passing.

I think when someone you know dies, a piece of your life, as in the one you had with them, the relationship, goes, and that's strange, because it's utterly unique. I like the bit about the old man as well; when you're young, nothing that bad has happened to you, or hopefully shouldn't have, the older you get, the greater collection of upsets you have with you.
